Washington Square Pop-Up

17 July 2022

New York City

On a hot Sunday in Washington Square Park, the Woodshed family hosted the second New York-based pop-up event. The first book in the Woodshed literary fiction series, T-Minus, was the hottest attraction in the square. For the first time ever, brand new signed copies of T-Minus were in physical form and for sale to the public. Books on books were stacked high at our corner of Washington Square, attracting all walks of New York and landing in the hands of many loving fans and strangers.

The event ran through the afternoon and evening as books and trading cards were sold. By the end of the night, DYM Keepsafe Trading Cards season #003 including Woodshed character cards were sold out. The new packs of rare and mysterious cards were swooped on, celebrated and traded, with fans and family bringing their collections of previous seasons into the card economy as well. This season of DYM Trading Cards contained 76 new designs, featuring a variety of Woodshed artwork, cast and crew, projects from the archives, and new holographic printing techniques for the rare cards scattered throughout the mystery packs.

T-Minus is in part a celebration and reflection of community in New York, which came to life with this pop-up, a public gathering in Washington Square Park dedicated to sharing the first book of the series. Woodshed’s New York home and our global audience was expanded by new readers entering the world to take the trip.
